Muslin silk is a popular fabric in Bangladesh. It is woven from the premium variety of silk that grows in Bengal only. The fabric of the pure muslin silk saree is nearly transparent. It is silky and very-light, airy garment made from delicate silk, known for its fine weave and sheer texture, offering elegance and comfort. It’s made using the plain weave technique, which means that a single weft thread alternates over and under a single warp thread. The texture has made this fabric celebrated all over the world. These sarees originated in Dhaka and became famous during the Mughal age. The first known reference to muslin silk fabric was made by Chanakya in his book Arthashastra in the 4th century B.C. When India was controlled by the Mughal rule, the muslin fabric from Dhaka received great appreciation as a sign of royalty and nobility. This is because muslin sarees are exceptionally light, sensuous to touch and looks glamorous when worn properly.
